Coon Valley, WI
We were excited to be allowed the opportunity to present to almost 400 middle school kids from the LaCrosse area school district May 11th. The kids were great listeners and observers as Mr. Flanagan and I explained what it was like to maintain the old farmstead in times of war. I even showed some kids how to "blacken the stove", a dirty hard job that preserves the stoves for the upcoming year. Thank you for the invite LaCrosse Schools!
Jefferson School, Appleton, WI
May 4th Mr. Flanagan had a wonderful time drilling his 5th grades soldiers and keeping them in line! Mrs. Flanagan was able to tell the students what life was like on the farm after the Mister went off to war. She even demonstrated a bit of her new found hunting skills! Thanks Appleton Area School District for having us!

Historical Parody had a great time attending Echoes of the Past Historical Trade Fair at the Sunny View Exposition Center, Oshkosh, WI. It was fantastic to see old friends, rekindle some friendships, and make some new friends!

WE had an awesome time presenting at Nettie E. Karcher Middle School
in Burlington, WI. The students were great! We enjoyed giving them a very brief glimpse of what the men and women of the Civil War era went through. We had so many excellent volunteers dress up in circa 1863 for us! Thank you to Mrs. Rummler and Mr. Schmidt for inviting us into your classrooms!

Norsekedalen Nature and Heritage Center, Coon Valley WI

We were able to present in a rural Civil War event in Coon Valley, WI at the Norskedalen Nature and Heritage Center! Coon Valley is located in the Coulee region south east of Lacrosse, WI. This event is hosted by the Second Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, Company B. At this event, we demonstrated every day living at the log house complete with cooking on a cast iron wood cookstove. Mr. Flanagan once again portrayed an itinerant preacher and provided an old fashioned Sunday camp service. Was a great time at the Historic Wade House, Greenbush, WI! Click here to see some great pictures from the event taken by the Green Bay Press Gazette...For the weekend, Mr. Flanagan was fighting for the Confederacy with the 10th Tennessee. He also conducted an old fashioned Sunday camp service in the role of an itinerant preacher.
